the Young Hoosier Reading List from 2009 - 2011
(see the Intermediate or Middle Grades lists).
No picture books are allowed.
What to do after I read...
Write a postcard book report
and send it to
Mrs. Toni Miles.

Include the
following:
*Name of Book
*Author of Book
*Main Characters
*Draw a (small) picture to represent the setting.
*Creatively write a message to me
from one of the characters in the book
about an important event in the book.
*Write a postscript (P.S.) that gives your opinion of the book.
*Your parent/guardian's signature at the bottom
of the postcard verifying completion of the book.
What happens next?
For each book you read
and complete a postcard
book report, you can receive 3 Viking Bucks.
These will be presented to you
at the beginning of the 2010 - 2011 school year.
You can also receive up to 100 Bonus Points (a homework grade)
on the first grading period for next school year.
That is 20 Bonus points
per postcard book report.
Read one book...receive 3 Viking
Bucks,
two books are worth
6 Viking Bucks
and so on
UP TO
FIVE books for 15 Viking Bucks!!!!
All postcards are due to
Mrs. Miles by no later than
August 18, 2010
If you do not have access to postcards
from vacation or otherwise,
create your own using 5" X 8" index cards
